BANTAM Arlington Soft Water, led by a tre mendous four-goal effort by John Walsh rolled past the Tri-City Royals #2 The game came to life in the second period when Walsh got three of his few tallies Other goal scorers were Wil Comway Matt Klemp, Perry Rau, and Jim Fenderson. Assists went to Ball McGune with two, Bob Fredian, Paul Kula, John Carberry, Jim Newtes, Conway, and Fenderson. The fine goalewdting was handled by Mike Kegell and Dave DeLeish. Jeff Gardner scored his second hat trick of the year for Artington’s Conace Schimming Olima 4 win over the Roll ing Meadows Wings. Dick Dwell and George Lear also scored, with Lear's tal ly turning out to be the winner. Bob Bet tis had two assists with single assists go ing to Chris Lindahl, Rea Riba, Tony Comitz and Duel. Mark Monroe was in the nets for the winners. Arlington’s Prim Cleaners and the Na perville Sons battled to a 3-3 standoff. Brian Locker led the way with two goals and an assist. Wayne Johnson picked up the other goal. Len Jarocki and Mike Retzer had two assists each, while Scott Whittier recorded a single assist. John Roth did a tremendous job in goal, stop ping two rival breakaways. MIDGETS Arlington’s Checker Oil beat the Tri- City Royals, 9-1. Craig Glander had a big night with three goals and two assists. Dave Retzer and Kevin Gorski had two goals each. Dan Farrell and Dick Glass rounded out the scoring with Glass also picking up one assist. Rich Wilson was the winning goaltender. The Arlington Jaycees, led by a two goal performance by Steve Lear and fine goaltending by Tim Paulsen, defeated Naperville 5-0. Todd Boufford, John Cooper, and Mark Turkcan also tallied. Assists went to Tom Bourgeois, Rich Carlson, and Cooper. The Arlington Arco’s fell to Palatine, 4-0. The Midget All-Stars lost a tough one to Northbrook, 3-2. Marc Klemp scored the first goal on assists from Dick Glass and Dave Retzer. Steve Lear scored the other goal on passes from Mark Turkean and John Cooper. Tim Paulsen was in goal for the All-Stars. PEE WEE Arlington’s McEnerney Insurance re mained undefeated with a 6-0 win over the Tri-City Royals. Rick Palmer’s hat trick and one assist set the pace. Pat Reilly, Rusty Gould, and Bryan Schu mann were the other goal scorers. As sists went to Jim McGuire, Schumann and Palmer. John Jordan got the shutout in goal with all the boys combining for a terrific game. Tom Moore scored the lone goal for Arlington's Franklin Glue in a 5-1 loss to Naperville. Mark Rustemeyer picked up an assist. The Arlington Firefighters were blanked 70 by the Rolling Meadows Chargers SQUIRT It was the defense leading the way in the Arlington Jaycee 3-0 victory over the ‘Tre City Royals. Bill Mitchell’s best goal tending yet, coupled with exhaustive ef forts from defensemen John Kuhn, Tony Aiello, Paul Barbaro, and John Mitchell, stopped every Tri-City assault. The Jay cee goals started at 8:17 of the first peri od with Ron Culpepper who also scored another in the second period. Barbaro was credited with one, and Porowinski gained another assist. Jim Aiello re turned to the ice after four weeks of healing a broken ankle. Garber and Breen are still on the disabled list. Outshot 33-5 by Naperville, Arlington's Lattof Chevrolet lost a close one, 2-0. Lattof’s goaltender Jim Murphy turned in a terrific job in the nets. The Century Computer Squirts clashed with the Rolling Meadows Bruins and came out on the short end of a 6-1 score. This match was one of close checking through the first two periods of play, but during the final period, the Bruins capi talized on the mistakes made by the Computers and scored four goals. Kevin McGuire turned away 18 shots on net, playing an outstanding game in goal. The Bruins’ goalie stopped breakaways by Bob Anderson, Paul Stoltzner, George Kostopoulos, and Dave Gardner. The lone goal for the Computers was scored on a tip-in by Andy Lund, with an assist from Paul Stoltzner. Even though the Computer team did not come out ahead this week some very good plays both of fensively and defensively were exhibited by Rob Patterson, Bob Kaslanski, Jeff Price, Todd Graves, and Mark Hendrick. JUVENILE Arlington’s Rob Roy Golf Club went down to defeat, 5-1 to Schaumburg. Vic Incinelli scored the first goal on an assist from Mike Mangan to tie the score. John Hertz tied it again with Jim Weber and Terry Nied getting assists. The half end ed with Schaumburg holding a 3-2 edge. Despite the fact that Rob Roy outshot its opponents 13-12 in the final period, it was unable to score due to the outstanding goaltending of the Schaumburg goalie.
