ILLNESS IS FATAL TO MRS. CARSWELLWaynesboro, Ga., Nov 8. Mrs. Arabella Walker Carswell died at her home “Bellevue,” near Waynesboro, at 5 20 o'clock this morning. She had been in ill health for some time.Mrs. Carswell was born March 3, 1868, In Augusta, Ga., the daughter of Col. Clarence Valentine Walker and Lucy Pearson Walker. She graduated from Tubman High school in Augusta and Mlllersburg Female college, Mil-lersburg, Ky., with A. B. S. degree in 1889. While there she was a member of the Upsilon Phi sororityShe was married April 3, 1895, to Porter Wilkins Carswell. She was a member of the Methodist church and worker in the Daughters of the Confederacy, in which she held an honorary life time membership.Surviving Mrs. Carswell are two sons, John Wright Carswell, of Savannah. ! and Porter Wilkins Carswell, who was living with her at the time of her death; two sisters, Mrs. Z. E. Miller, of Atlanta, and Mrs. Walter C Davidson of Greensboro, Ga.; one brother, Johr D Walker, of Atlanta, one brother-in-j law. John Devine Carswell, of Savannah, and one grandson, John DevineCarswell of Savannah.Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev E. M Overby, pastor, officiating Interment will be in Magnolia cemetery hereMrs Carswell was well known here as she visited her sister-in-law Mrs C B Walker and cousin Mrs A B. Graves frequently during years past.
