An interesting event took place last Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morley Clegg, Binscarth, when the former's father and mother cele brated the 50th anniversary of the wedding. At the family dinner, the children and grandchildren and a few special friends were present includ ing Mr. and Mrs. T. Callin, Mr. and Mrs. A. Maynes and Mr. and Mrs. Hellyar. Following the dinner a short programme was carried out with Roy Rea as toast master. The toast to the bride and groom was pro posed by Rev. Mr. Hellyar and res ponded to by M. Kines Our guests proposed by Mr. B. Clegg and responded to by Rev. Mr. Hurter Our Home, was proposed by Mr. N Braendle and responded to by Messrs T. Callin and Peter McIntosh. On the same day Mr. and Mrs. T. Cerllin celebrated their 41st wedding anni versary. The honored guests were the re cipients of a number of presents, several gold pieces and a magnificent bouquet of roses. Robert Clegg was born in Wellesly, Ont., and his wife before her mar riage was Fanny Rogers, of the town ship of Huron. They were married at Gorrie, Huron county, in 1875 by Rev. Jame Mooney, Mr. Clegg’s brother-in-law For a number of years he farmed that county and twenty years ago came west, first to Russell then t Binscarth, in which place he has lived for the past fourteen years. Both were members of the Metho dist church and took a keen interest in all that pertained to its welfare thee children were born, two son, and one daughter, two of whom are living. They are Morley Clege. Rin searth, are Mrs. G. H. Falcon. For werren There are also few grand children.
