REPORTED RESIGNATION OF SIR ! CHARLES WARREN. |The Press Association is informed that Sir Charles Warren sent in bis resignation on Saturday, after the statement made by Mr Matthews in the House of Commons regarding the publication of the article in Murray i Afcujaziiic that Sir Charles Warren had been requested to observe the rule of the Home Offioe as to the publication of works on matters relating to the Service. Sir Charles took counsel with his friends, on Saturday, and the result was that on the same evening he sent in his resignation, couched in the briefest language to the Home Secretary, stating as his grounds for do:ng so that he oould not accept the reproof administered to him. This morning V.l his books and papers were removed from the Chief Commissioners office at Scotland-yard, and this was the first intimation at Scotland-yaid that he had relinquished the position.The Press Association in a lat?r telegram says the fsci of Sir Charks Warren's resignation is officially confirmed this afternoon.
