C/mries(ony (.S’. C.) JVor.FROM IRELAND.’ The schr Superb, Capt. Weems, of Baltimore. arrived at this port last evening, in 40 days frcm Belfast, whence she sailed on the 1 22d of September. Capt. W. brought no pa-! pers, and her letters were not delivered last evening. The only information ive have obtained is of the unfortunate loss of the ship j Rebecca Coffin, Capt. Livingston, of this poit, received by one of her owners in a letter from a gentleman on board, dated44 Donaghadkts (Ireland) Sept. 13. j u We sailed from Greenock on Sunday morning, 12th September, and attempted to get out the North Channel, but it blew so hard from North, that after reaching Knnis-hahul, we bore away fur the South Channel. 13th, at 4 r. m. while running 8 knots, and carried on by the tide about 3 more, we j struck the ground, and dragged on about 6 i or 1U minutes before a rock brought us np.— You may conceive what consternation we tell, but withal there was a degree oJ com- \ posure, which 1 could not have expected.— j In the morning, we found out selves surround- ; ed with rocks and within half a mile of the land. The anchors were sent out, and every attempt made to gel the ship oil’—she once ; floated, but only to gel on another rock. On \ the 1(3lb, she had not been injured so much as to leak, but on tlae succeeding night a gale came on, and she beat so bard as to (ill the succeeding tide. Her cargo is mostly got out, but in a thoroughly soaked slate ; whether she will be gut cflor not is very doubt- | tub 1 am happy to add that no lives have been lost. 1 he place where the ship lies is about 5 miles south from Dunaghadee. The banners in the neighborheod have treated us with great kindness.’
