A four touchdown, 30 point fourth quarter powered the Blytheville Chickasaws team to a 44-7 victory over the South Pemiscot varsity last night at Haley Field in the season finale for both ball clubs. A devastating ground attack led by tailback Michael Wright enabled the Chicks to finish the 1980 cam paign with a 6-2 record. Wright carried the football 29 times for 203 yards. The 5-6, 124 pound sophomore seatback also ac counted for 24 of the Chicks’ points on three touchdowns and three two point conversions. Wright scored TDs on runs of 17, 2 and 44 yards. Another sophomore, fullback Da vid Riley, carried the ball 10 times for 113 yards and added a pair of touchdowns on runs of eight and 34 yards. The Chicks’ other TD came on a 53-yard run off tackle by fullback Drew Workman. Workman finished the night with 59 yards on just three carries, Blytheville broke out to a 14-0 edge in the first quarter and then were held scoreless by the Bulldog defense until the explosive fourth quarter. South Penn got on the scoreboard on the first play of the second quar ter on a two-yard run up the middle by fullback Roger Pritchett. A 27-yard pass from quarterback Randy Hunt to end Mark Cecil got the Bulldogs in scoring position at the BHS six-yard line, Hunt kicked the extra point. The Chicks had a big edge in final statistics. They had 375 yards of total offense, all on the ground, and 14 first downs. South Penn finished with 116 total yards with the lions’ share of that of fense belonging to Hunt. The Bulldog QB ran the football 10 times for 50 yards and had five pass completions for another 39 yards. The Bulldogs made seven first downs. DAVID RILEY
