HALLOWEEN TROUBLE AT BARDOLPHWan Ain*l in Justiw Fulkc»M»urs (V)urt—(Nnsidcrahlo I lanutfto Dona.Halloween was observed In Bardolph in a strenuous manner by some of the young men of that village or vicinity, and as a result three were on trial before Justice Falken-thal today charged with the mischief. Outbuildings were juggled around and rolled away and one planted in the middle of the street; wire was moved, buggies placed on top of buildings and considerable damage was done. It seems, however, so far, that the guilty parties pretty carefully concealed their tracks.H. B. Walker, one of the village trustees, saw an outbuilding as it was being tipped over and saw five young men on the job. He hurried out and met three young men. Bert Holler, Arthur Winter and Harry Holcomb. He did not know the last named but recognized the other two. Holler did all the talking and denied at the time that he did the mischief and refused to go back with Mr. Walker and set it up. He said he had nothing to do with it and would not assist in replacing it. The other hoys did not say anything. That was all the evidence offered by the state as to the guilt of these three defend ants. It seems that Ralph Holcomb had also been arrested on the charge hut the state dismissed as to him before the tidal. The defendants stated that they were in Macomb that evening, going back to Bardolph on the night train. They went to the restaurant, and hearing a noise in the west part of town went to investigate. They saw a party of young men run from the premises where the outbuilding in question was turned over, as mentioned by Mr. Walker, the premises being owned by Holler’s father. They denied having anything to do what-y ' ever with that or any other mischief that evening, and had only gone there to see if anyone was bothering the premises. They could not identify any of those who ran from the premises that night. The jury was out but a few min utes and returned a verdict of not | guilty
