Wife Gets Divorce FromThomas Agness on Cross-Petition—Others Cast Off Matrimonial Chains.Though alleging jtbat his wife, Clara Agness, 1703 Joe Williams stre^jL was afflicted with an ungovernable temper, had left him. taking their child with her, on one occasion, and on another a boarder in their house. Thomas Agness, 4032 Delaney street, failed to follow up his assertions withproof in Domestic Relations Court yesterday, wherefore his petition was considered as abandoned.On the contrary, Mrs. Agness, having filed an answer and cross-petition, testified and alleged that her husband had not supported her. Her necessities, she said, had compelled her to make clothes for herself and child outof flour sacks. Further, she asserted, her husband contended that “all women have their price; none of them is virtuous, and no Judge is honest.” He even accused her, she said, of undue intimacy with an aged man, a friend of her hubband’te, whom she had taken into their home as a boarder at the request of her husband. Judge Charles W. .Hoffman granted the divorce to Mrs. Agness on her cross-petitidh on grounds of extreme cruelty.
