Cpl. Marion E. (Mike) Gibson and his wife, the former Brenda Katherin Hamilton, were honored with a family dinner and shower in the home of the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gibson, Rt. 2, Flora, on Sunday evening. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hamilton of Richland, North Carolina. The couple was married October 14 in North Carolina. The couple opened their gifts from a white covered table over laid with a white net skirt with brown bows. The three-tiered cake, topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, was decor ated in fall colors. A bouquet of bronze mums and orange candles enhanced the table. Hostesses at the serving table were the bridegroom’s aunts, Mrs. Richard Johnson of Rt. 1, Bringhurst, and Mrs. James By rum of near Kokomo. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gibson, Kathy and Roger Gibson, Miss Joyce Snyder, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Birden and Eddie, Mrs. Katherine Helvie, Mrs. James Helvie, Mr. and Mrs. John Shafer, Mr. and Mrs. James Byrum and sons, Ricky, Randy and Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson and children, Gentry, Kimberly, Janine and Lowell, Miss Janice Cripe, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Helvie and sons, Chuckie, and Jimmy. Afternoon callers were Mrs. Mabel Gibson, Mrs. James Staley and Mrs. Jennie Brathwell. Cpl. and Mrs. Gibson will leave Saturday to return to North Carolina. He is stationed at Camp Lejeune, N. C., and has served as a clerk in the Marine Corps for over two years. He will complete his three year enlistment on February 5. The couple’s address will be Rt. 2, Box 117, Richland, N. C. 28547. The bride was again honored on Monday evening with a shower in the bridegroom’s home. She was assisted with the gifts by, Mrs. Charles Birden, Jr. and Miss Kathy Gibson, sisters of the bridegroom. A sheet cake decorated in fall colors, mints and coffee were served to the following guests: Mesdames Jap Imler, Marion E. Gibson, Marion E. Gibson III, Walter Schneib, Tom Gibson, Le land Blohm, Walter Bennington, Arthur Helvie, Edward Helvie, Charles Birden ,Jr.,, and Charles Gibson, Misses Kathy Gibson, Betty Rees and Sharry Gibson, Master Eddie Birden Jr. and Mike Gibson, Dave Schneib, Roger Gibson and Charles E. Birden, Jr.
