Erie Ord nance Depot, is the first Ottawa County girl to enlist in the WACs since the Korean Conflict started. Miss Benson enlisted for three years at the Sandusky Recruiting Station last week. She is a member of the P. C. H. S. Class of 1950.Six other Port Clinton area youths also enlisted in the services at Sandusky late last weekWiley T. Evans. Michael J. Mi lazzo and Guy J. Ransbottom. all of Port Clinton, enlisted at the Sandusky Naval Recruiting office and are now in training at the Great I.takes Naval Training Center in Chicago.Jacob F. Jacobsen. Route 1, enlisted for three years in the infantry at the Sandusky Army Recruiting Station. George J. Mon ak. Marblehead, and William I Lane, Lakeside, enlisted for four years in the U. S. Air Force, also at the Sandusky recruiting station.According to the records of Mrs. Edward Reifschneidcr, clerk of the Ottawa County Selective Service Board, others who have enlisted recently, or were recalled as re servists, include:Harry R. Elmore, Coast, Guard.Records in Mrs. Reifschneider’s | office show that 103 youths have enlisted recently in Ottawa County. The total is greater as menwho are over 28 and numerousreservists are not reported.
