DEMOCRATIC HOSTS TOMEET AT MUSKOGEEIOn October 15th Democrats from all over the state met at Medicine Park in the Sixth Congressional District under the auspices of the League of Young Democrats. It was perhaps the greatest gathering of Democrats ever assembled in the state outside of a state convention. A call has been issued for a like meeting in the Second Congressional Distict at Muskogee on Saturday the 19th of November, 1927.Statewide Democrats are invited and expected to be present, including Governor Henry S. Johnston, George D. Key, State Chairman, Scott Ferris, National Committeeman, Senator Elmer Thomas, Senator Gore and Ex-Governor C. N. Haskell and Lee. Cruce and all thermembers of Congress. CongressmanHear Is ill Ragon of Arkansas, aneloquent and forceful speaker, has• ^accepted an invitation and the committee is in communication with- .*other men and women both inside/ •and outside of the state, tq attend.While * the meeting is sponsored by the League of Young DeifidCrats,' everyone, regardless of age,. is not only invited but urged tovconic.The ladies are to be given a prominent place on the program and are cordially invited and welcomed.In addition to able speakers, a noonday luncheon Is to be arranged and other entertainment provided^ J.,F. Rollins, president of the State League of Young Democrats, and W. L. Askew, Chairman of the Second Congressional District, promise to outdo the Medicine Park meeting. Muskogee is to throw open her doors and Mayor Paul Williams says the keys of the city are handed over for the entire day.
