Death of John W. Cramton.John W. Cramton of Rutland died Oct. 2f»th iw a result of a second ahock of |a-ralysis. Mr. Crumton was well known throughout the state and had held many Important otllces of a public and private nature. John Willey Cramton wan bom in Tlnmouth, November 10, 1826, Me went to Kutland in 18iW and began the manufacture of tinware. In the year 1860 lie began his career lt;u a hotel man by purchasing the Central House, which was a well-known hotel at that time, in 1864 he purchased the Hard well House in which he lived till the time of his death. At the time of his death Mr. Cramton was president of the Baxter National Bank, the True Blue Marble Company, the Steam stone Cutter Company, and the Kutland Street Kail way Company. Mr. Cramton wag a Republican in politic* but he never sought ofnee. lie was, however. chosen senator from Kutland countyin 1S*h. He wag prominent in M Agonic circles ami was a member of the Knights of I*ytin,is. In l»*rhc was chosen a director of the Howe Scale Company and later vice presidents which position he held unt il hi* death. Mr. Cramton was married Oct, 3, 1882, to Mia* Klorenc* Belle Gate*, who survive* him.
