To tAe Editor of iht KaocaHie Chronicle Sia—Referring to the late action brought by me againat the Municipal Council of thia city, I beg to aay that the report current, that I refused an offer of aettlement by the Council, ia quite untrue. I never had ant offer for settlement tnado to me by the Municipal Council, and only proceeded to law to enforce an equitable judgment.
