E. Winans, recently appointed to the Presiding Eldership of the Indianapolis District, was among the first taken from the wreck. He was lifeless, so bruised and distorted iu features that a friend who has known him as a brother helped to lay him out for burial whithout a recognition. He did not know that he was among the dead until it was announced in the Journal this morning.Lieutenant Carter, who was iustautly killed, was formerly engaged in the grocery business in this city, in company with Mr. Dugan.
