November 5th, 1934 Grayson Woman's Club, My Dear Friends:— As you know Carter County was created by the Kentucky Legisla ture in the year 1838. The year 1938 will be the one-hundredth an niversary of the County. It just occurs to me that It would be fitting and proper for some kind of a Centennial celebration of this event. The time is some distant, but it will require time to arrange a pro gram suitable for such an occasion If this is undertaken, civic and pa triotic organizations should begin soon to prepare plans for some. This should be made a home-com ing for all former citizens who are widely scattered over the country. This might be called the Century of Progress for Carter County or by whatever name is deemed most suitable for the event. I am taking the liberty of hand ing a copy of this letter to the Car ter Couny papers so as to call it to the attention o as many people as possible. Trusting that your organization will give this suggestion your con sideration, I am Yours respectfully, G. W. FE. Wolffor! breed unmolested.
