FEE ARGUMENT ENDS IN DEATH OF ONE MANAttorney Releases Blood Spattered PistolDALLAS, Nov. 7.— (UP) —Ar*n-gument over a $5 fee was blamed. today for the slaying of Albert V. | Lambert, 30, in a downtown office building here yesterday. * 'Spencer P. Adams .attorney, was arrested by Sheriff Hal Hood. The two men struggled for a pistol before a volley of shots struck Lam-bert to the floor.He lived long enough to deny Adams' charge that ha had threatened to kill him. On the operating table he moaned for his wife and babies.Shortly before surgeons sought to remove the bullets, Lambert made a statement to Assistant District Attorney Harry Pollard. Pollard declined to reveal its contents.Adams has been in a Wichita Falls hospital for treatment, according to L. P. DeLee, his defense attorney. Adams' father was formerly a member of the Texas ranker force.Several weeks ago Lambert was charged with theft of over SSO in connection with the theft of an automobile. Lambert employed Ad* am8 to get him out of jail.Adams said he was unable to obtain a preliminary hearing and attempted to sue out a writ of mandamus to force a hearing, but was unsuccessful. Adams did not represent Lambert following the lat* iter's indictment.“ Lambert had paid me only $5 when he came to my office again , and demanded his $5. I refused to give it hack because I considered 1 had earned it,” Adams said.The case agiinst Lambert was dismissed last Wednesday.The body ol the slain man was sent to Big Sandy today for fu» neral services and burial. Lambert was a painter by trade and formerly was a member of the Dallas fire department.
