Curator Aldrich of the state department of history is in receipt of word from the government mint that workIs now going forward on 40,000 metal medals for the St. Louis exposition. Among them are a number for Iowa. Curator Aldrich is in receipt of two line bronze presidental medals, showing Theodore Hoosevel^s face, «nd completing the presidental series now at the department building. Curator Aldrich lias been ihformed that James C, Savery has left a request that the state department of history be made the custodian of the diploma of Mrs. Savery, who was the first* woman inIowa to bo graduated from the law departmont of the state university and admitted to practice. She was nearly 40 years old at the time.
