OWENS.| From J. D. Walker’s residence, in Tustin, this morning, the soul of George 1B. Owens departed to the unknowniI realm. This young man has been confined to his bed with typhoid fever onlv since last Thursday, and his death was a \ sudden and terrible blow to his many, friends. The deceased left his home at Dallas, Georgia, five years ago, and had intended returning on a visit to his people next month. He came to Santa •Ana two years ago last April, and soon after secured employment with the J. M. Griffith Lumber Company in the city, being transferred lt;18 months ago to the management of its yard in Tustiu, which position he had retained to the time of his death. His services were valued very highly by his employers, who found in him a steady, reliable, honest young man, on whom any trust might be imposed with safety. During his residence in this vicinity he has made many warm friends to whom his demise is a severe blow. The remains will be interred in the Santa Ana cemetery for the present. Funeral services will be held at Mr. Walker’s residence to-morrow morning at 10 o’clock, to which all friends and acquaintances are invited.
