U and was held to bail for an assault, and for this improp r and unjusti- ■ j liable treatment of Stevens during a a gale. The amount of t ail was left to ho „ fixed after examination on two other warrants, one at the instance of Douglas,! the first mate, for mutiny : and the other at the instance of a seaman, for an assault, until which he was remanded to ’j the custody of the Alar-hal.—Alta. ; j(Captain Waterman is said to have v been arrested at Monterey. He will probably be soon brought to San Francisco.
