Remarkable Figures of Manufacture and Consumption Are Submitted by the Coca-Cola Company.What prohibition has done for the soft drink companies is reflected in official figures of the Coca-Cola Co., giving September shipments astL972,399 gallons, compared with 824,813 gallons in the corresponding month last year.Fcr the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1919, shipments were nearly15,000,000 gallons, and for the full year are expected to exceed 20,000,-000 gallons, compared with 10,314,-727 gallons in 1918 7*521,833 galIons in 1915, and 4,190,149 gallons in 1910.Shipments of 20 000,000 gallons of syrup in 1919 indicates a consumption of about 2,500,000,000 bottles or glasses, the company estimating 125 bottles to each gallon of syrup.Surplus available for the common stock this year is expected to run close to 83,500,000, equal to 87 a share on the 600,000 shares outstanding, ancj dividends may he inaugurated early next year.Auditors are now at work on thehooks, preparatory to application to list the stock on the New)York Stock Exchange. During theexistence. of the old Coca-Cola Co. more than820,000,000 was spent for ^advertising.
