Crops were exceptionally good here this year. Schools opened here on Monday with good attendance. Mrs. William T. Porter visited With Mrs. Zachariah Waggoner, on Sunday . The first killing frost fell here last Friday night but the damage was light. . Miss Ruth Nichols, of near Odon was here visiting the latter part of last week with relatives. ‘Misses Inez. Farrier and Margar et Allen are teaching school in Baker township this term. Miss Emma Crane _ visited her sister, Mrs. Marlin J. Hert, near Mountain Springs, on Saturday night. ~ Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Bubenzer and son, Ernest, were guests of William T. Porter and family, on Saturday night. ‘Mr. and Mrs.. John McArtor and Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, of Blankenship were here Sunday vis iting with Gustav Bubenzer and family. George Crane, who is building a barn at Tunnelton for his uncle, Manford Payton, was here over Sunday visiting his mother, Mrs. ‘Lewis Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Marien Gee, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Sargent and Mr. and Mrs. Paris Sargent were guests of Jasper Sargent and family, near Burns City, on Sunday. _ Frank’ Crane came home Sunday evening from near Jasonville where he is farming, to cast his vote for the Grand’ Old Party’s interests. Mr. Crane reports good crops in Clay county. . On account of frail ‘health Gus tav Bubenzer and family are expect ing to move to North Dakota in the near future and will sell all their personal property at public auction next Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bub enzer and family moved here from Freelandville about six years ago, purchasing the Will Hays farm. Since that time they have made a host of friends, who regret to lose such good neighbors, nevertheless we wish them the best of health and great success in their new home.
