Hurricane Katrina near Cuban coastMIAMI (UPI) — Hurricane Katrina aimed its 75 mile-an-hour winds toward populous central Cuba Thursday night, forcing evacuation of 62,000 residents and prompting the Bahamas government to post a hurricane watch.Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami said it was too early to predict whether the season’s seventh hurricane would affect Florida. Katrina’s center late Thursday was about 300 miles south of Miami.Shipping interests along the southeast Florida coast, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas were advised to seek shelter.At 9:30 p.m. CST, the center of Katrina was located about 75 miles west of Camaguey, near latitude 21.3 north and longitude 79.2 west.
