bii s not ouen you yet to see a man in a penguin tuxedo playing an electric guitar, or the world's largest trombone-playing grape. But the Syracuse Symphony Rock Ensemble provided this and more as they performed in Snell Auditorium Friday evening. They rocked their way through Bach, Townsend, and Taylor, with a style that split the gap between classical and modern right down the middle. All the pieces were personal arrangements by the conductor of the group, Calvin Custer, who used the old theory of over-played contrasts to grasp the audience's attention. The concert was fantastic - let's hope to see more of the same in the future.
