At the age of sixteen she started her successful career of teaching school, which vocation she followed until she was united in marriage to Mr. G. H. Morris of Independence, Kansas, on December 20, 1899. She has resided in Independence and vicinity since her marriage until her death. • .To this happy union were born five children, three of which have preceeded her to the beyond. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, G. H. Morris, daughter Myrtle, son Harold, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Eastman of Independence, two sisters, Mrs. Lily Adams of Independence, Kans.,Mi's. Ered Voorhes of Elk City; four brothers, Mr. J. J. Bai n-. ard of Independence; Arthur of Shroud, Okla ; Edwin of Grand Junction, Colo., and Prank of Los Angeles, Cal., also many distant' relatives and a host offriends.She was a loving wife and mother, a splendid neighbor, loved aud esteemed by everyone who knew her, loved best by those who knew her best, for to know her was to love her.She has fought the earthly fightAnd passed from darkness into light;We all must pass this portal wideTo meet once more beyond the tide.She was a devoted Christian, a member of the Messenger” family, and a very faithful member of the Holiness Mission of Independence, Kansas. Her life
