ERNEST GIBSON KNOCKED DOWN AND ROBBEDErnest Gibson, the express messenger, was knocked down and robbed last evening about seven o’clock. The hold-up man who seemed to be alone, rifled his victim’s pockets, securing two live dollar bills and overlooked a small amount of change.Gibson, who resides with his father, Chad. Gibson, the grocer, at 714 West Archer avenue, left the depot express office shortly before seven o'clock and started home on the tracks of the Q. north. When near the Monmouth I.umber Co. plant he heard some one behind him, and just as lie was about to look back, he received a stunning blow on the head, which knocked him down. The next thing he knew the robber had his money anq was gone.Before leaving the express office Gibson had given his watch to Fred Stutsman, the night expressman, to keep until he returned, and this action very luckily saved him the loss of a valuable and highly prized time piece.The police were notilled, but up to a late hour no clew to the thief had been discovered.
