S. Y. Baldwin, a Quincy aeronaut, and Ir. Isaac N. Morris of the Quincy Jour*al, m tde a balloon ascension in that jit about noon Monday last, and at 4:«% hat afternoon they landed in safety aear Sherman station, six miles north of Springfield, making the trip of about 100 miles in a little over four hours. The greatest altitude reached by the balloon was 10,000feet, or nearly three miles.
