Iu regard to the “ physiological differences between the white man aud the negro/* 1 would observe that on this subject “ doctors disagree.” I have mode it my care to inquire of several well-read aud skillful surgeons “ whether they have beeu able, iu the course of their anatomical experience, to discover any difference between the physio^y of the white and of the black man?11 One gentleman informed me that he had never seeu any such difference, but that the negroes generally were supposed to have thicker skulls ; aud that he once heard an able surgeon say that the “ pyramidalix muscle ” is sometimes wanting in the negro subject; but that in the course of his own porsonal experience and observation, he had never disoovcrcd auy “ physiological difference ” between the white andUiflk lubjoela. -
