Court OK’s Housing PlanThe Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority can proceed with plana tor conatruction of the proposed $2,600,000 Beekman B low-cost housing project on Beekman Street, Fairmount,THIS WAS THE ruling ofJudge Ferd Bader in Common Pleas Court when he held, in an opinion handed down late Wednesday, that the project is within the scope of the law and “is in the interest of health, morals and welfare of the community.”Thirteen persons, as individuals and directors of the East Westwood Home Owners* Association, had sought an injunction to halt construction of the 336-family project on the grounds that the authority was operating under statutes that were unconstitutional.Judge Bader held that the Bousing Authority act of the State of Ohio does not violate the t ights of the plaintiffs as citizens or property owners and is notunconstitutional. He said that the statutes in question gave the MHA the power and authority to act and carry on the detailedadministration of the affairs ofthe office.
