DR: SCHENK LEAVES BEBNEPopular Doctor Will Move Fanr ily Soon—Hu Practiced in Berne During Long PeriodAfter having practiced medicine in Berne for. twenty* three years and having made in this period of time, a large number of friends, Dr. C. H. Schenk announces that he will discontinue his practice here and locate at LaGrange, Ind The doctor has spent all of his time in the medical practice in thia town, with the exception of two years at Oakville, Ind., and a year in the army.That Dr. Schenk h^s always stood m high esteem in the medical profession is proven by the.fatet that he is at present serving his third consecutive year as president of (he Adams County Medical association. He has also served as town health officer for a number of years, as well as having been elected county coroner in 1903 for a period of two years. ' .When our country became involved in the world war, the doctor became one of the active workers in all war drifas, such as Y. M. C A., Bed Cross and Libertythe call camf for medlciM#enio theactive Mr* vice*, pr. Schenk : volunteered his services with the medical corps of the U. SI army, god waa accepted, being commissioned as a 1st lieutenant. After having spent a few weeks in the .medical officer*’ training school at Ft. Oglethorpe, tie , he wee sent overseas*The doctor landed at Liverpool, England, from where he was tranferred to ,Cherbury, France. F^roin this place he was ordered to. Le Mans and later to Brest, where he served as a ward Burgeon. While in .France he had the pleasure of visiting many of the ancient landmarks and relics of that country and also of spending a week at Pontenezeu, the French military camp of Napoleon's army.Last January Dr Schenk returned to the states with a transport of wounded soldiers. He soon received his honorable discharge from the service at Camp Dix, N. J, The doctor had sacrificed the comforts of home and family and also a very remunerative practice, for the pleasure of bringing relief and comfort when he entered the service.Upon his discharge from the army, Dr. Schenk decided to look fpr a better location for his practice- Not wishing to be classed frith the /‘practice jumpers, he went to Chicago where he entered the-Chicago Poly cl nic hospital for a two months’ post graduate course. / . ^ i/iaDr. Schenk .hasno Walter ffll return from Chicago, decided'*to locate at La-jGrange, where fie has bought a home and will start hit prhc tire there in the middle of October; 'The doctor regrects yery much to 4eave his many friends and expresses his appreciation for the patronage aiid courtesies shown him during the past twenty-three years.
