Serious Accident to Marvin Kidwell While Out Hunting. By the accidental explosion of a shotgun, Marvin Kidwell, a well known young man living near Opequon, this county, was maim ed for life on Saturday afternoon. Young Kidwell had gone out hunting and in passing through a strip of woods, he attempted to leap over a fallen tree. He placed the butt of his gun on the ground and put his right hand over the muzzle, using the gun to assist in him in leaping over the log. In some way the trigger caught, probably against the log, and de charged the gun. The entire load of shot entered the right hand completely shattering it to th wrist. The wounded man called to help, but no one was around, he displayed great nerve courage in holding the shatter fragments of his hand in his l fand, and thus walked over the miles to his home. . Dr. I. M. Brumback and bod, Dr. Hunter Brumback, were sent for, and after bandaging the wound, stated that it would have to be amputated at the wrist.A day young Kidwell was suffers great pain. He is a son of Mr. David Kidwell and is about 2 years of age.
