C. T. Spaulding, Bozenkill road. —Mr. and Mrs. Warren Schell of Stillwater, N. Y., announce the ar rival of a baby girl on Oct. 27%. Mr. Schell is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schell Sr., of Altamont. —The Anti-Can’t class of St. John's Lutheran church will meet at the parish hall Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. Members are to bring thimbles and scissors, for use in tying off quilts. Altamont firemen received 55 to 60 calls to pump water out of cel lars during the heavy rains of last weekend.The deluge caused much flooding, but was not as damaging as the storm, of the Oct. 14-16 week end. Shortly after midnight Satur day, during the driving rainstorm, a break in the wires on lower Main street, caused a power failure of two hours and forty minutes. Here again, the Altamont firemen were on dubai Keeping traffic away from ‘broken’ Wires which had fallen to the rain-soaked ground. The fire men deserve commendation for their excellent work in such emergencies, as well as in their regular line of duty. . ~The Laurel Band class of the Reformed church held the regular monthly meeting Oct. 31 at the par ish hall.
