Museum Newsby Mrs. V.A. JohnsonOur pictures this week are furnished by Dr. Joe Wells of Wichita Falls. They are the^ 1937 seventh grade graduating class of which he was a member.The pictures were made at the old Baptist Church where the 1936-37 class met while the old grade school was being torn down and the present building constructed.This Baptist Church building was completely destroyed in the 1942 tornado.The boy and girl are Bill Klepper, valedictorian with a 96 + average and Virginia Moseley, salutatorian, with a 95-f average.The group seated on the church steps are: top row, from left, Archie Porter, Murrell Diggs, A.Y. Olds,Wayne Cobb, Ray Naron, Daniel Brisco, Johnny Ray Gray, Charles Davis and Joe Wallace Beverly.Second row from top, Marjorie Pechacek, Laura Belle Whitfield, Sammie Jean Mills, Lola May Donaldson, Iva Ruth Gafford, Dorene Gibson, Beverly Hughston, Hallie Sellers andVirginia Moseley.Third row, from trop: FoySanders, J.M. It belonged to her grandmother, Mrs. Roscoe Pierce, now deceased.We want to thank Freddie and Bettie Riethmayer for some shelled pecans which will be used in our candy. Come by the museum for divinity candy from the kitchen of Bettie B. Gafford.
