The remainder of the shouldering will be done by hand and will take about three weeks, although all of the danger of driving over the ror.d is practically eliminated. The black hne, marked by the state highway department, has been completed to Burlington* .ind is of great assistance in making the trip over the parts of the pavement where the shoulders r*re not completed. Will Extend Service. ,I The Cannon Ball Motor Transpor-W tation company, w’hich has been oper-tcS; t\ e^VIff rrotintlti!,jCedescettetlt;et ilk*cett 1cri rcer,*chA115;10;ketar-totoed-25-DO;to:k-toket?rslbsrcaat18c5c3c(ifi£)ating to Galesburg for several wTeeks, , ) plans to extend its service to Burlington as Loon as the paving near the MacArthur bridge is opened. The concrete was completed to the bridge last week and will be opened to traffic about November 14.The Miller Construction company last week finished the stretch from the Egan road west to the highway bridge. The mixer was then moved ( back on the re-located roadway to pour 3,500 feet between the Egan road and the poin1, wrhere the road will turn to go under the railroad tracks. This new section cannot be used, however, until the subway is completed, as cars cannot get to the concrete until they reach the Egan corner. In view of the fact that the cut under the tracks cannot be made until spring, the state is going to place cinders on the old road from the new’ pavement south of the tracks to the Egan road junction on the north side. This will provide a smooth surface during the winter so that a good road will be available from the bridge on east.i(1ji11
