Colonel Sellers Runs Across Marooned Cars in Comanche Canyon and at Hubbell Springs, Col. BD. K. B. Sellers, president of the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway assert ation, left here Sunday afternoon on a quail hunt and found seven strand ed tourists' automobiles between here and the Manzano mountains. They started west from here last Saturday afternoon, lost their way and were trying to find their way back or the Ocean to Ocean route, when the colonel found them Colonel Sellers, whose reputation as a road logger is known from Cali fornia to Kansas City, was hailed by the lost tourists with delight. “OO, Colonel Sellers,” cried awo man who read the colonel’s name on the side of his car. “You're just the man We want to see. We've been lost in Hellish canyon. They told us to see you when we left Denver, but we thought we could find our way and started. The seven cars departed Saturday, following a Californian who said he knew the route. The Californian evi dently took the right pass through the mountains. The other seven par ties went up Hell canyon in the Man zanas for twenty-eight miles and then turned back. On the return they dif fered as to the right route, so three were at a sheep ranch in Commanche canyon and four near Hubbell Springs when Colonel Sellers found them. Several cars returned to Albuquer que to make a new start. Others, af ter learning the right route, contin ued on their way.
