the Democrats are confident, bold, defiant;—they have met the enemy at every point and it is no boast to say that he lias been dtiven from the field of argument, and is on the point of giving up the struggle. The defeat of the Democrats of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana, instead of unnerving them, has only served to convince the Democracy of Illinois that they are in the right, and that they win be sustained in the Election. With I here and there an exception, so slight us to mako it unworthy of not:ic, the Democracy of Illinois arc fighting as one man in favor of Douglas and the nominees of the party for the House of Representatives. The party wi'l be sric-cessful in the election.
