Died at his residence near Drayton, Dooly CO., on the 8th Aug. 18.38, of Typhoid fever, brother SILAS TOW ELL, after an illness of 15 da vs, aged 44 years 4 months and seven days. The subject of this notice was principally raised in Houston CO. ; he moved to this county when about 21 years old, and since that time lie has been a valuable cit-ivien and an honest niXn.Bro. Powell joined the Baptist church at Dray-ago, since that time he lias lived a pious life, and been an exemplary member. Upon his death bed he desired only to live for his family, that he might, by the help of God raise-them in the way they should go. In all of his af fliction lie was perfectly resigned to the will of God, and even expressed a willingness to depart and be at rest. Bro. Powell left a young widow and seven children to mourn over his departure but wife and children mourn not, for we verily believe that the lost one is now in Heaven praising God. 0 how important then, that while living allshould so live that we may die as did brq.
