The signal for the beginning of Laurel’s Christmas parade this year will be a flyover by four Air National Guard jets at 10 a.m. on Dec. 1. The flyover ‘‘will designate the start of the parade,’’ Lyon Herrington, parade chairman, said today. About 20 people met Thursday night to discuss plans for the the annual parade, Herrington said. So far, seven groups have made commitments to have floats in the parade, and four or five more have expressed an interest in having floats. Thirteen bands have also entered the parade. Parade applications may be obtained by contacting Rob Pankowski at 649-2250 or Herrington at 649-1977.
