Services held for John McNuttFuneral services were held last Tuesday, October 26 for John R McNutt,. 97, at Walker Funeral Home with Rev Melvin White officiating.Mr McNutt, a longtime Hawleyville resident, was born June 5, 1879 in Page County, the son of Eli and Maggie Gingery McNutt. He was married to Sarah Baker who preceded him in death March 18, 1959.Mr McNutt had farmed and in later years had a track garden at Hawleyville. He had been a patient for the past 18 months at Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah. He died there Saturday, October 23.He had stayed part time at the home of his nephew and family, Mr and Mrs Lewis Baker in Villisca before going to the rest home.Besides his wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Beryl and Cecil and one infant daughter, Wilda. He is survived by Arthur McNutt who makes his home at Thogmartin Nursing Home in Bedford and other nieces and nephews.Casketbearers included Eddie Fidler, Don Winger, Harold Hakes, Lloyd Lininger, Kenneth Pratt and Ray Kincheloe. Burial was at Memory Cemetery in NewMarket.
