The Masonic Temple in Salem will be the scene of the golden wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Knight Sunday, Nov. 8. Open house will be held from 2:30 until 5 p.m. with their friends, neighbors and relatives being in vited to share in the occasion. Mrs. George Raines was honor ed in Springfield Friday and Satur day when she attended a state Red Cross meeting and received an award of appreciation for volunteer service to the Centralia chapter. She has given 725 hours to Red Cross work this past year. She also serves as chairman of St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and has given many hours of service there during the past time in addi tion to her church work. She is superintendent of the Children’s Division of the First Methodist Sunday School and serves on the official board of the church and on the church's commission on ‘Education. Miss Marlena Baldridge was in cluded in a group of 15 students from the University of Illinois department of physical education for women attending a convention of Ilinois Athletic and Recreation Federation of College Women at George Williams College, Lake Ge neva. Wis. over the weekend. Jack Daniel, former managing editor of The Sentinel who desert ed the newspaper field in favor of the antique business, writes from Albuquerque, N. Mexico where he operates the Jack Daniel Shop, telling of the marriage of his youngest daughter, Madonna. She became the bride of Robert H. Gross III of Albuquerque on Oct. 16. Madonna, an art major, was graduated from Centralia Town ship High School in 1956, attended Southern Illinois University for two years and the University of New Mexico for one year. Her husband attended the University of New Mexico for two years, majoring in business administra tion, and is now employed as a traveling salesman by a national food concern. The young people are living in Abilene, Texas.
