OBITUARYFranklin Madison Addington, the fourth child and third son taf Joseph and Susannah Add-[ington, was born in Randolph | county December 5, 1853- He |grew to young manhood on the 'old homestead of his birth i where he, with his father’?j *i family cleared the land and tilled the soil for the lively hood of the home- He attended school near their home and enjoyed all the sports of the young people of the community- Being of a very'-Ifvely disposition he surrounded himself with a host of friends who sought him as their joyful companion-He became acquainted with Anna V- Wright when but a young man and their acquaintance ripened into true love which won for them the tie which makes, two lives one, and they were united in marriage November 6, 1875- To this union was born seven children, four sons and three daughters-Two sons, Earl and Harry C having preceded the father tc the Great Beyond- jI Franklin with his family lived j near the home of his birth for j , many years. He was converted i ; md became a member of the Friends ehurch at Bear Creek j For several years he was an [active member, leading the 'prayer meetings and doing any ■ part that was open for a true j .Christian to do- He enjoyed the | j work and the spirit of God] [witnessed to the same in the 'services which he ledHe has lived in and near the immediate neighborhood of his birth all his life. His kindly acts and tenderness of spirit won for him nmnv friendsjwhere ever he has lived. Tv.r■■■■■•■■■ : : iij-i i'amily he y,.-*,*I'eadv to go-midnight as the new day was bom on October 24, 1923, at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 19 days- He passed away very quitiy as a light is blown out he too, dosed this life to go and meet his God who doeth all things well-He leaves to mourn their loss, a loving tender wife, who has bom with him the joys and sorrows of this life until death has seperated them, two sons and three daughters who will miss a father’s love and kindness; also -eleven grandchildren who will %uss him very much- ■ Of hfs father’s family of eight children, six sons and two daughters, only one remains, Martha Ellen Wright, of Winchester; and a host of other relatives and friends who- will miss him in so many, many ways.God has given, God has taken,All of us must bear the pain.But he promished that in Heaven, Some day we shall meet again.You are sleeping dearest father, Where the ivy round you creeps. And we know that you are happy,In your everlasting sleep.You are gone but not forgotten.
