Mr. Humphrey Dead-%• •One of the saddest deaths for-a long whiJe occurred here, whenIsaac F. Humphrey who, whilevisiting his daughter, Mrs. W.P.Fay of Stilwell, died suddenly ofheart failure. Was born in Rex-•ford county, Ireland^ February 16, 1833, and died 12:30 a. m.* Monday morning, Qctober 3.0*, 1905, At time of his death wasI72 years, 8 months and 14 days old. He came to America when 18 years old and settled at. Litch*-. | field, Illinois, where he followed the cooperage trade untjl 1860,! when ho was united to Miss Mil-I bra White. To this union were 'born 6 children: William dieing in infancy; George and Alice L, Regers living in Merkel, Texas; Jessie McNamara living in' St. Joseph, Mo.; Bertha Ray living here, and Lucy dieing at the age of 18. In 1866 he removed to Barton county, Mo., where he followed farming until his affliction, Asthma, compelled him to give up an active lift, since which time he lias made his home with his son atid daughter of Merkel^ Texas.He united with the Baptist Church iu Litchfield, Ohio, in 1851, and has tried to live up to, their teachings as he understood them. He has gone to join.his. wife who died February 3, 1876.His funeral service was con-ductfed at the Baptist Church,Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, by Rev. C. M. Powell, afr ter which his body was plaoed in the New Hope cemetery to a-wait the resurrection morn.The Standard joins a host offriends iu extending sympathyto the bereaved children, and especially to Mrs. W. P. Fay whom we all know.
