The funeral of the late John F. Guerra, whose untimely death, the result of a most pitiful accident, caused the deepest ^sympathy of the entire community to go out to his bereaved parents and sistors, took place from the Catholic church last Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. There was a great concourse of people present, the filling of the church showing no appreciable diminution of those in attendance, who patiently waited outside of the sanctuary until the services were over and then solemnly followed the remains to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery.A number of young misses, members of the school class of one of the sisters of the deceased, bearing numerous floral offerings, accompanied the remains to the grave and deposited those beautiful emblems thereon. The scene was most touching, and many a tear glistened in the eyes of strong men not often observed to give way to emotion.The pallbearers were: Ed. Purcell, John Brescia, James Parks, Carl Schacht, Will Arditto, Antone Cala-mara.John F. Guerra was just at the threshold of active life, being about 22years of age at the time of his death.He was an only son and of great help to his mother and sisters, his father being in Arizona. Indeed, he was to all intents and purposes, the head of the family, and his death is a very sad blow to his mother. He was born in Jackson and has grown up among this people, all of whom speak of him in terms of the highest praise. He was an energetic, hard working young man and liberally contributed of his earnings to the support of his mother and sisters.
