Dr. and Mrs. F.C. Whittaker gave a very delightful Hallowe’en party, Tuesday evening, in honor of their visiting guest, Miss Liddell, of Tam ps. The guests, numbering about thirty, consisted chiefly of the young er married people of the town, with Misses Lloyd and Curry and Mr. Stebbins, of Manate2, and Mr. Em ery, of Umatilla, Fla. The plan of entertainment was unique. Each guest, with “look-your-best” expres sion, was seated for a profile shadow on paper, which was artistically out lined by Mr. H. W. Fuller, and cut out, when all had been “taken,” an interesting array of white heads were held against a dark background, and the guests, with paper and pencil, were asked to recognize their friends as well as “know thyself.” Mrs. Wiley made out the only perfect list, for which she received the prise, a dainty box of stationery. The refreshments included apples, nuts, popcorn, raisins and candies. A number of gruesome ghost stories were told at the close of the evening, enough to frighten the guests home on tip-toe.
