The branch's two money making events for the Fund were the Edna St. Vincent Millay reading at the Hotel Statler ball room, February 9, attended by 000 people with every seat taken and a most delighted audience. Alpha Robbins Gehr, 1011, was chairman and the committee cleared $525, which exactly finished the branch pledge to the Endowment Fund.In the heart of Cleveland’s colored district a rummage sale was held May 2 and 3 to raise money toward the branch gift of $800 to Alumnae House for the terrace and garden in honor of Ida McKean who is a Clevelander. About $500 was made at this* Josephine Stewart* 1922, was general chairman, with the committee divided into subcommittees to handle the collecting, marking and selling. More than 5000 articles were handled and about 800 attended each of the two days of the sale.An Education Committee, organized to study aspects of child training has arranged several meetings on this general subject with speakers from the city’s educational centers, Marjorie Woods Robinson, 1914, is chairman.Officers of the Cleveland branch are: Dorothy McKee Kirkpatrick, 1912, President, Elizabeth Hosterman Rowley, 1913, \r ice-President, Josephine Stewart, 1022, Secretary-Treasurer.
