FATHER OF MRS. MARY SPONAR DIED SUNDAYWas a Resident of Monroe Township for More Than Fifty Three YearsFlorian Novak, a resident pf Monroe township for the past fifty three years, passed away Sunday at 12:30 P. M. at his home twelve miles northwest of Oxford.Deceased was born in Bohemia on November 25, 1836, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Magdalen Haropoth, and at' the age of thirty-four sailed for America with his wife and two children. He was an industrious farmer and worked diligently in the interest of his family.* Old age had made him feeble for -several years, but the fatal stroke overtook him last Friday. From then until his death his condition was serious, all human aid being of no avail.He leaves to mourn: his wife and six children Mrs. Mary Sponar of Oxford, Mrs. Annie Kulhavy of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Fannie Hall of Iowa City, Mrs. Pauline Machacek of Al-burnett, Mrs. Kate Dubisher of near Walford and Charley Novak of Cedar Rapids. Besides thirty four grandchildren he also leaves four greatgrandchildren: Eleanor and Vilda Sponar, Marilyn Tomash 'of Oxford and Pauline Long of Alburnett, Iowa.Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. F. Pokorney of Ely* Iowa. Burial was made in the Hala cemetery.
