The Fourth Annual National Dairy ShowThe Fourth Annual Meeting of the National Dairy Show Held at Milwaukee, Wis., October 14*24 Proved to Be One of the Most Satisfactory Events Ever Held ' by the National Dairy Show Association. The General High Standard of the Exhibition Established a New Record for Dairy Shows Not Only in this Country But Abroad.A SINGLE line of wire, 2,200 miles in length extending from a telegraph key at Grand Canyon, Arizona, to the new Auditorium in Milwaukee, enabled President Taft to send the electric flash that set the fourth annual national show at Milwaukee in motion.To the interested spectators the event was of momentous importance. As the wheels of the great exposition began to turn a. greeting from the president came over the wire:“1 am glad to press the button to open the fourth annual dairy show, and I hope it will be as complete a success as important interests it represents deserve.” EE CORD SHOW FOR COMPLETENESSUnquestionably this was the most pretentious opening of any of the annual events of the national dairy show.Competent critics express the opinion that the annual dairy exhibit this year at Milwaukee.,.was not only the most complete ever attempted by this organization, but the most representative dairy exhibition ever held in this or any other country.An exceedingly fine representation of dairy cattle numbering 600 head was on exhibition.Every particle of available space that could be used for exhibition purposes was occupied. The whole show was a wonderful educational exhibition for all people,.not excluding the dairyman himself,DECORATIONS WERE ELEBORATE .One of the features of the show was to he noted in the decoration of booths and exhibits.Electricity was used for effective and artistic designs^ Thousands of multicolored electric bulbs were used throughout the entire auditorium with striking results.'One of the most striking educational exhibits was the display made by the dairy division of the bureau of animal industry,—From Hoard's Dairyman.Officers and Directors of the National Dairy Show1-Colon C. Practically every style and size manufactured by this concern were on exhibition. The exhibit was notable for the attention given by the manufacturers in bringing out the details of , their separators.The Vermont Farm Machine company were on hand with their U. S. cream separators, and were busily occupied in impressing upon all visitors their recent winning of the grand prize at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific exposition.DAVIS FAMILY’WERE THEREThe Davis Dairy Machine company had an exhibit showing their dairy machinery including separators and machines for filling, capping and washing milk bottles. One of the popular features of this exhibit was that at all times one of the nine members of the Davis family connected with this concern was always. on hand during the entire show to explain the various Davis products to visitors.The Iowa Cream Separator company and the Standard Cream Separator company both occupied conspicuous places, and made exhibits effectively bringing out the qualities of their dairy separators.The International Harvester company of America made an extensive exhibit of their “cream harvester.” There were also included in their exhibit auto wagons loaded with milk cans, as well as effective displays of International gasoline engines.KINDRED DAIRY DISPLAYExhibits at the dairy show not only included articles used in dairying but kindred appliances; for instance the Farmers’ Handy Wagon company made an effective display of the well known “Saginaw Silo.”The Fuller Johnson Manufacturing ! company made an attractive exhibit of the gasoline engines made by this well known concern.One of the interesting features of the show was found in the exhibits of theWashington,.
