County Recorder Carl A. Speir, secretary of the Erie-co ‘Township Trustees and Clerks ‘Association, announced that the 22nd annual summer convention of the state association will be held at ‘Cleve land, June Y through June 11. Intensive study’ will be given to the workings of local government, he said, and conferences will deal with consideration of pending legislation and with duties of as sociation officials. Speakers on June 9, in the ballroom of Cleveland’s public auditorium, will include Mayor ‘Thomas A. Burke; Charles P. ‘Taft, member of the Cincinnati city council. C. William O'Neill, of Marietta, minority floor leader of the House of Representatives; Willard D. Noble, head of state examiners of township books, and George W. Potts, president of the Pennsylvania Association of Town ship Officials, June 10 and 11 sessions will be held at Hotel, Cleveland, and speakers will be John F., Cant well, of Youngstown, speaker of the house;G. Ek. Casper, vice president of the Slummneis associa tion; Henry J. DeWitt, Jr., secre tary of the New York group; Chas. K. Scott, chief of the fire preven tion bureau of the state fire mar shal’s office, and Dr. Robert B. Whyte, pastor of Cleveland’s Old Stone Church, George Koppenhafer, of Ver milion, president of the Erieco association, will be present at the pre-convention association presi dents’ dinner Jume 8, and will represent the county at the ex ecutive committee noon luncheon June 10. Convention banquet will be on the evening of June 9, and it is planned for members to attend the ball game at the Stadium, on the evening of June 10, with adjournment of the con vention to be at noon June 11. DELTA UPSILON MEETS OXFORD, O.,, May 31 (#)—~The international convention of the Delta Upsilon fraternity, which has chapters in’ 65 U. S. and Canadian colleges, will be held at Miami university August 31 to Sept. 3, officers of the local chap ter announced today. SHRINER, 66, DIES CLEVELAND, May 31 ()— Morris E. Miller, 66, past poten tate of Al Koran temple of the Shrine here and long active in ‘Masonic affairs, died in a hospital ‘yesterday. He was a native of 'Canton.
