WM. A.MEARDONFORBOARD OF SUPERVISORSOn ,the republican ticket two men are after the nomination for super-., visor for the four year term. One of these men is William A. Meardon, who resides east of Iowa Gity.Mr. Meardon is no stranger in the political life of Johnson county. He is well known, perhaps now more than he' was two years ago at this time. It wilt be recalled that Mr. Meardon was a candidate for theboard of supervisors two years ago,• (running against Ed. Fitzpatrick and Frphk Kralh Supporters. of Mr, Meardon contend that he would have landed the office if it had not been for the democratic landslide. However Mr, Meardon is not walking about the county telling this sortof thing because he is not that typeof man. He is a gentleman in every sense of the word and he is1 conducting his campaign as a gentleman1 / *should. He does however believe thatmen who have been on the board of► * Msupervisors for more than tw:o terms should retire and he states that this seems to be the sentiment of a large■ * r •number of voters over the county. Present indications are that 'Mr.Meardon will have little difficulty in* Bsecuring the republican nomination for supervisor. If nominated he willi • .•be opposed this fall by the victor of the Laeina-Fiala-Jones-Doerres contest on the democratic ticket.tt1c
