12,557 Increase In School RollsThe increase In high school enrollment In Georgia this year is12,557 over that of last year, according to statistics recently compiled by Dr. J. S. Stewart, profesaor of secondary education at the University of Georgia, and Dr. K A Pound, of the State Department of Education.The report of their Inspection ofthe schools shows that there are .1 !.taccredited schools In the state, twenty-six of which are negro schools.There are 53,756 white pupils and4,124 negro pupils enrolled, making a total of 57,880 The graduates this year number 11,303, 10,406 of which are whites The boys constitute 46.3 per cent and the girls 54.7per ctl^/i'' ’r ' * Jse * * 1Mr. Pound reports that there are I 28,96 2 pupils in the nnn-accrodltedschools, that Is, schools offering on y two or three years of high school work. This number added to the number in th«4 accredited schools makes a total of 86,842 pupils in the high schools. All of these except 5,614 are in public Institutions.
