PUBLISHED BY THE LAWRENCE COUN'$2.00 PER YEAR IX ADVHIGH SCHOOL GIRL A SUICIDESeventeen Year Old Daughter of Bert Wimberly Takes Own LifeDorothea Wimberly, the seventeen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wimberly, committed suicide at an early hour Saturday morning by shooting herself with a revolver.The family lives just south of the B. O. tracks. Sunday morning Mr. and Mrs. Wimberly were just sitting down to breakfast. Dorothea was in her room upstairs and a younger brother was in an adjoining room. Mr. and Mrs. Wimberly heard a noise upstairs, and one of them laughingly suggested that perhaps Dorothea had fallen out of bed. The brother heard a revolver shot, but supposed it was outside the house. Shortly afterwards the body of the girl was found on the floor at the side of her bed, in her right hand a 32-calibre revolver. She was alive, but died at 8:30, an clt; hour after shooting herself, without. t} regaining consciousness. The bullet entered the right side of her head, just above the ear.The coroner’s inquest failed to unearth anything to explain her action, and the parents can assign no reason for her sudden determination to end her life. Saturday night she was out with a gentleman friend and it is possible he might be able to throw some light 011 the mystery, but he has been missing since the tragedy. She was about 17 years old and last semester was a Freshman in the Law-renceville Township High School.Funeral services were held at the XJnited Brethren church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Everett !E. Johnson, and interment was made in the City cemetery.This is the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Wimberly to commit suicide.In September, 190S, Raymond C.
